Scottish Widows Investments appoints director of equities

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has appointed William Low as director of equities.

The move follows the repositioning of the firm’s equities strategy and in his new role Mr Low has overall responsibility for the global equity, specialist equity, dealing and governance teams.

He joined SWIP from BlackRock in April 2011 since when he has headed up its global equities team.

He succeeds Andrew November, SWIP’s director of equities since August 2010, who is taking up the newly-created role of investment propositions director where he will focus on developing the SWIP investment proposition for Lloyds Banking Group customers.

Commenting on developments, SWIP managing director, Dean Buckley, says: “2012 marks a new direction and focus for SWIP’s Equities business and I’m delighted that William, who has made a significant impact since joining SWIP in 2011, is to lead the team into the future.”
