Arthur J. Gallagher acquires Acumus

Arthur J. Gallagher International has announced that it has acquired specialist insurance advisor Acumus.

Acumus caters to the needs of the housing association sector through the provision of risk consulting and insurance services.

The firm offers a broad range of risk services, such as detailed assessments of key risk areas to firm-wide ‘health checks’.

The Acumus team, which is based in Chelmsford, will continue to trade under the Acumus banner following the acquisition.

Huw Thomas and Mark Evans established Acumus six years ago to provide housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs, (Arm’s Length Management Companies) with risk and insurance services.

Arthur J. Gallagher International Chief Executive Officer David Ross stated that the acquisition enabled the firm to augment a strong and vibrant niche sector within the company.

The acquisition follows that of retail insurance broker Blenheim Park Ltd, which was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher International in August.
