CNP Assurances appoints new CEO


French personal injury insurer, CNP Assurances, has announced the appointment of Frédéric Lavenir as chief executive officer.


Mr Lavenir will take office on 26th September 2012, replacing Antoine Lissowski.


He will arrive from BNP Paribas, which he joined in 2001 as head of leasing activities, moving on to head of group human resources in 2007 when he also became a member of the bank’s executive committee.


Jean-Paul Faugère, chairman of the CNP Assurances comments: “Thanks to his experience as chairman and chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Lease Group, Frédéric Lavenir has acquired an in-depth understanding of a business model based on a partnership with distribution networks.”


Mr Lavenir has also served as the French government regulator for insurance companies.


After working as a finance inspector from 1986 to 1990, he joined the French Treasury, initially as head of banking regulations and then as director of the insurance company office.


CNP Assurances is France’s leading personal insurer, with revenue of €30 billion in 2011.
