Marsh Ltd’s new chief executive officer, Mark Weil, has taken up his position with the firm.
Weil joins Marsh from its sister company Oliver Wyman, where he led EMEA Financial Services.
As leader of Marsh’s UK & Ireland operations he will be directly responsible to his predecessor Martin South, who has been promoted to become chief executive officer of Marsh Europe.
Weil said that he was looking forward to working with Marsh’s motivated, capable and confident team.
He went on to say that the UK was facing economic headwinds, not least from the eurozone sovereign debt crisis, and that he was already meeting with clients to help prepare them to weather any financial storms that might come their way.
