Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) has announced that it has appointed J. Michael Bischoff to the role of chief financial officer.
Bischoff, who assumes his new position with immediate effect, will be directly responsible to President and Chief Executive Officer Brian Duperreault.
Bischoff has worked as interim chief financial officer since March, prior to which he was responsible for directing and leading MMC’s Corporate Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Treasury and Investor Relations functions.
During his prolonged time with the firm, which he joined three decades ago, he has also occupied a range of senior financial management positions.
Duperreault said that the firm was pleased to have Bischoff remain as chief financial officer for a longer period, following an extensive search.
