Marsh has announced the appointment of Stephen Wares as the firm’s new Cyber Risk Practice leader within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Risk Practices group.
Wares is tasked with the development of the firm’s cyber risk and insurance proposition and will collaborate closely with experts from across Marsh to provide cyber risk solutions to the firm’s largest clients.
He began his career with Bowring FINPRO more than two decades ago and since 1997 has worked for Hiscox, where he occupied a range of senior technology roles.
George Davies, Chief Executive of Marsh’s European Risk Management Practice, praised Wares’ expertise and understanding of related broking and underwriting markets.
Wares himself added that the cyber risks faced by organisations evolve rapidly, and that for many firms the greatest single challenge they face is keeping pace with these technological threats.
