Covéa announces pair of senior appointments

Covéa Insurance has announced the appointments of Martin Scarrett and Malcolm Cooper as head of Eelectronic Trading and head of Underwriting, Personal Lines, respectively.

Scarrett brings more than three decades of industry experience to his new position and joined MMA in 1993 as Motor Section Leader.

Since 2006 he worked as Household Underwriting Manager and four years ago was promoted to Head of Underwriting, Personal Lines.

In his new role Scarrett will be tasked with leadership of the firm’s e-trading strategy and managing relationships with software house partners.

He will be directly responsible to IT & Business Services Director Clive Bryant.

Cooper joined MMA at the start of this year, working as a consultant and helping to develop risk-modelling for household lines.

As head of Underwriting, Personal Lines, he will concentrate on promoting effective underwriting control and risk selection for the firm’s private car, commercial vehicle and home products, and will report directly to Personal Lines Director Colin Batabyal.
