Lancashire appoints chief risk officer


Lancashire Holdings Limited has announced that Mike Pearson is to relinquish the position of chief risk officer and will leave the firm with effect from 28 February 2013.


The firm has approved the appointment of Charles Mathias as its new chief risk officer, subject to regulatory approval.


In his new role Mathias will be tasked with responsibility for Lancashire’s enterprise risk management activities and those of its subsidiary companies, Lancashire Insurance Company Limited and Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited.


He has been with the firm since its founding seven years ago and has more than a quarter of a century of experience in underwriting and insurance broking.


Prior to his latest appointment Mathias worked as group Underwriting Operations director and chief underwriting officer.
