International specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited has announced the appointment of Daniel Curran as the head of Casualty for the underwriting operations based in London.
Curran, as head of the Casualty Business Group, will acquire responsibility over a wide range of business classes underwritten by Catlin Syndicate at Lloyd’s and Catlin UK.
He joined Catlin 12 years ago as an underwriting assistant on the Healthcare Professional Liability account, and was promoted three years later to class underwriter.
In 2009 Curran was appointed senior class underwriter, and a year later took responsibility for the Errors & Omissions Account.
Active Underwriter of Catlin Syndicate 2003 Nicolas Burkinshaw congratulated Curran upon his appointment, adding that he had distinguished himself as a creative and pragmatic underwriter.
