Friends appoints heritage CEO

Friends Life has appointed Jonathan Moss as chief executive officer of its heritage division, reporting directly to group chief executive officer, Andy Briggs.

Mr Moss, who will be joining Friends in early September, has a strong track record in financial services, most recently as chief executive officer of the Phoenix Group where he led a successful restructuring of the group’s financing arrangements, including making a switch from private equity to public ownership.

Earlier in his career, he worked at AMP in a variety of senior actuarial and corporate finance roles.

In his new post, he will work closely with Andy Briggs and Friends’ broader executive team on the delivery of the group’s strategic goals, including its capital optimisation plans.
