Lockton is to enter the UK employee benefits market with a view to building a full-service capability by the beginning of next year.
The new enterprise will be headed by Mike Tyler who will join the broker on 1st October having previously held the post of managing director the UK division of global benefits business, Buck Consulting.
Prior to this he was chief operating officer of Mercer in the UK.
Lockton’s chief executive in London, Julian James, comments: “Lockton has significant and established benefits businesses in the USA, Latin America and Asia … so entry into the UK market is a strategic and logical progression.”
He adds: “The significant resources at Lockton’s disposal in the UK and internationally, and its strong service ethos, will help us to deliver a differentiated service proposition of the highest quality, based entirely around client needs.”
