AA signs up to IFB’s fight against fraud

Broker, AA Insurance Services, has become the latest organisation to sign-up as a member of the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), providing a new source of data for the identification of organised fraud.

Bureau director, Phil Bird, comments: “Working alongside brokers across the country is strategic priority for the IFB and we welcome the AA as our latest partner.”

Since its inception in 2006, the IFB has overseen 711 arrests and 16 successful convictions resulting in a combined 167 years in prison for organised fraudsters.

With a primary focus on the “crash for cash” phenomenon, the bureau is currently managing 36 live police operations valued in excess of £60 million in potential savings to the insurance industry.
