Bupa has appointed Robert Lang as managing director of its International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) business.
Mr Lang joins from UBS where he was a managing director in the bank’s European Wealth Management division.
However, he has more than 10 years’ experience of the insurance sector, having previously held various roles within HSBC including managing director of insurance, Hong Kong; head of insurance, HSBC Europe and UK; and chief executive officer, HSBC Life UK.
Commenting on the appointment, Bupa chief executive officer, Stuart Fletcher, says: “Robert’s sector knowledge and record of success in running large insurance businesses in multiple markets will see him bring valuable expertise to Bupa that will help us grow our international private medical insurance offering.”
