Marsh makes international leadership appointments

Marsh has combined its Asia and Pacific regions and appointed a dedicated leader for a new Continental Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Turkey region.

Martin South will become chief executive officer of Marsh Asia-Pacific, following his successful track record in previous roles with the group including chief executive officer of Marsh Europe and of Marsh UK.

Based in Singapore, he will take up his new responsibilities on 1st January 2013.

Flavio Piccolomini has been appointed chief executive officer of Marsh Continental Europe, CIS, and Turkey, in addition to his current role as chief executive officer of Marsh Italy.

In addition, Mark Weil, the recently-appointed chief executive officer of Marsh UK & Ireland will now, along with Mr South and Mr Piccolomini, report directly to David Batchelor, President of Marsh’s international division.

Commenting on the changes, Mr Batchelor says: “By bringing Marsh’s Asia and Pacific regions together, which is consistent with our external reporting, we can better capitalise on the tremendous opportunities to serve the growing needs of clients in this vibrant region.”

He adds: “The appointment of a dedicated leader for Continental Europe, CIS, and Turkey will bring additional focus to the growing risk challenges our clients face across this geography.”
